How eAssist Changed Amara’s Life

Joining eAssist’s dental billing platform as a Success Consultant (SC) changed Amara’s life in many ways. She didn’t have to think twice, though, when asked what was the single biggest and best aspect of starting her own business – “Being present for my kids’ lives in ways I never thought possible for someone in the dental industry.”

After the birth of her third child in 2018, Amara couldn’t bear to leave her young baby to return to her in-office dental job, as she had needed to do twice before. No longer willing to lose out on watching her children grow up, and attending their events and activities with her husband, Amara was compelled to find out if joining the eAssist platform and starting her own business would be a good fit for her and her family.

She said the transition from her 9 to 5 office job mindset was more challenging than she expected, admitting, “It felt weird stepping away from my computer in the middle of the day to play outside with my kids, or go to a doctor’s appointment without having to run it by anyone.”

Within two months Amara learned to fully embrace the freedom the eAssist platform offered – whether that meant working during the day, or working at night or even on a weekend if she had been busy with family activities during the day. “It really just depended on what I was doing with my family each day. But the best part was that all of these decisions were mine to make; that is something I could never get from working at a dental office,” she explained.

In her additional role working with the eAssist Talent Management Team, Amara coaches other SCs based on her years of experience, encouraging them to always remember why they chose to join the eAssist platform. If their motivation was to have more flexibility and free time for themselves and their family, they need to be sure to carve that time out. Amara advises, “It can be really hard to separate work-life from home-life because you now work and run your business from your home. Control the workload you take on so that you can maintain that delicate work/life balance we all need to be healthy, functioning humans.”

Amara summarized by saying, “The eAssist platform has allowed me to be present for my husband and children, and even pick up some other hobbies I didn’t have time for before. I will always be grateful to eAssist for what it has given me.”
