One of the perks of being an as needed employee is the freedom & flexibility to set your own schedule, with most new employees starting part time. eAssist has some Brand Promises that we strive to achieve for the offices we serve, and some of these involve specific timelines. You may be able to meet those Brand Promises for an office working eight hours a week, or eight hours a day (depending on a number of factors), but there are usually some daily responsibilities. You may prefer working early in the morning, or later in the evening, but all services require working during some regular business hours. Otherwise, as long as you’re meeting the Brand Promises, communicating regularly with your team, and keeping your offices happy, you decide when you work!
You’ll want to make sure that you communicate your plans with your teammate and Team Leader in advance. One option is to take work with you if you’d like! Many eAssisters love to travel and as long as you have access to secure and reliable internet, load up that laptop and hit the road. You can also “take turns” with your teammate; you cover them for a few days for their vacation, and they’ll cover you for a few days. You may also find another trusted eAssister (with the help of your Team Leader) that you can have added to your office for a specified time to complete your responsibilities.
We have offices onboarding into our company every day. However, there are many variables to consider. Software knowledge, for example. If your only experience is with a practice management software that isn’t being used by many offices currently onboarding, you may experience a longer wait. In addition to software experience — your own preference can dictate how soon you accept an assignment. That’s right, you don’t have to accept the first opportunity that is offered to you! At eAssist, we truly want you to be successful, so we ask a lot of questions like: do you prefer posting or aging? A small, medium office, or a large office? Are you comfortable working with HMOs or Medicaid? Our Talent Placement Specialists and Team Leaders are always here to help.
We are happy to consider any applicant even if you do not currently meet these standards, but please note if offered an employee position our IT department will determine if your hardware and internet meet eAssist requirements.

(For test results, plug your computer into the modem with the Ethernet cord and go to speedtest.net)
Cable, DSL, and Fiber-Optic can be used for internet providers. We do require a minimum of a 2.0 upload speed, so if your current provider cannot provide this, you will need to research a new internet provider. You are not required to work off an Ethernet Connection, but this is recommended for best practice and will often resolve speed issues.
Currently, Satellite and Hot Spot (cell tower) providers are not sufficient for your permanent internet connection. If you are traveling you are required to be on a private (not public) network or use your own VPN or hotspot.
